Join Hoover-AHEAD as we commemorate Juneteenth, the day that symbolizes the end of slavery in the United States. Also known as “June Nineteenth,” this important day marks the arrival of federal troops in Galveston, Texas, in 1865 to ensure that all enslaved people were finally freed.

Each year, Hoover-AHEAD brings our community together for a family-friendly Juneteenth celebration filled with:
